Actors and celebrities are often known to lead a lavish lifestyle. They usually buy expensive and comfortable cars, as they spend a lot of time travelling due to their busy schedules. While there are several luxury cars in most actors’ garages, there is one brand that has been a common sight among many celebrities over the years. That brand is Toyota, and the model is the Innova. Malayalam superstar Mohanlal recently bought a Toyota Innova Hycross, and a video of the same is now available online.
The video has been shared by Jaleel on his Instagram page. In the video, we see Mohanlal walking towards the car, which was parked outside a house. It looks like the actor opted for home delivery to avoid crowds and unnecessary attention.
The car is covered in a black cloth, and once it is unveiled, we see an all-white Toyota Innova Hycross MPV. After the unveiling, the dealership staff hand over the keys and documents to the actor. We can also see Mohanlal’s Range Rover parked in front of the newly delivered Innova Hycross.
The actor’s family was present at the time of delivery. Like many celebrities, Mohanlal has opted for a fancy registration number for his new MPV. He chose the number 2255 for the Innova. This is not the first Innova that Mohanlal has owned over the years.

He initially owned the first-generation Innova, later upgraded to the Innova Crysta, and has now added the current-generation Innova Hycross to his garage. We assume that the actor has opted for the hybrid version. One of the main reasons why the Innova and Innova Crysta became extremely popular among buyers was their legendary reliability and excellent ride quality.
There are several examples of Innova and Innova Crysta MPVs that have clocked over 5 lakh kilometres on the odometer without any major mechanical issues. Mohanlal and Mammootty are two of the biggest names in the Malayalam film industry, but when it comes to cars, both actors have very different preferences.
Mammootty enjoys driving expensive cars and buying vehicles for the thrill of driving. Mohanlal, on the other hand, prefers comfort and is often chauffeured around.
The newly bought Innova Hycross is the latest-generation model, and the biggest difference compared to the previous generation is that it is no longer a ladder-on-frame MPV. Instead, it is built on a monocoque chassis and has also grown in size. The MPV now comes loaded with several premium features that were not offered earlier.
It gets features such as ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, Level 2 ADAS, and more. The Innova Hycross is available only with automatic transmissions and is offered exclusively with petrol powertrains.
The non-hybrid variant is powered by a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 172 bhp and 209 Nm of peak torque. The hybrid variant uses a 2.0-litre petrol engine paired with an electric motor, producing a combined output of 183 bhp and 188 Nm of torque. Both engine options are paired with a CVT gearbox.
Prices for the Toyota Innova Hycross start at Rs 18.43 lakh (ex-showroom). The Innova Hycross seen in the video appears to be the top-end ZX variant, which costs over Rs 31.30 lakh (ex-showroom).
