Mahindra Thar is one of the popular lifestyle SUVs in the Indian market. The current-generation Thar came to the market in 2020, and since then it has been a popular model among the youth and adventure lovers. We have seen several videos in the past where Thar drivers have caused accidents on the road due to their reckless behaviour. Even senior police officials have spoken against the Mahindra Thar and the people who buy it in the past. Here we have a video where we see a Mahindra Thar driving on the wrong side, with the driver posting a video justifying the act.

The video has been shared by a user on Reddit. In this video, we see a Mahindra Thar driver talking to the camera while driving on the wrong side. The SUV driver can be heard saying that this is the greatest benefit of buying a Mahindra Thar. He says that the road he was supposed to drive on had a huge traffic jam.

Now, instead of waiting for the jam to clear up or taking an alternate route, the driver decided to take his vehicle to the wrong side of the road. It looks like he is driving somewhere in Delhi. The exact location is not known, but we can see a couple of cluster buses that are usually seen on Delhi roads.

The Thar driver claims that this has been the biggest benefit of buying a Thar. He is driving on the wrong side and no one actually dares to stop him or asks him to drive around. This is mostly because of the image that the Thar SUV has created among people in the community.

In fact, he is promoting the Mahindra Thar and encouraging others not to follow rules. As the driver continues to talk, we can see several two-wheeler riders and car drivers trying to avoid the vehicle coming from the wrong side. A biker almost had a crash with the Mahindra Thar as well. It should be noted that Delhi and most North Indian states are experiencing winter, and there is thick smog on the roads on most days.

In such conditions, driving a vehicle on the wrong side is extremely dangerous, as road users might not be able to spot vehicles coming from the wrong side and may crash into them. Thankfully, we don’t think this video ended in a bad manner, but that doesn’t mean everyone should drive this way.

This video is a perfect example that shows the mentality of some drivers on Indian roads. They often try to bully others on the road, and we have also seen people perform stunts in Mahindra Thars, putting their own lives as well as the lives of other innocent road users at risk.

A few months ago, a senior police official from Haryana had made a statement that the Mahindra Thar is driven by rogue elements of society. This stirred up a controversy, and many Mahindra Thar owners came forward defending themselves.

While we do not believe that the statement made by the officer was appropriate, incidents like these do not present a good picture of the Mahindra Thar and the people who drive it. Hopefully, the authorities will trace the vehicle and the owner’s details and take necessary action against him soon.
