The two biggest problems for any state which has active tourism are the exploitation of its culture and environment. Over the years, we have seen how people have started doing stupid things in Leh Ladakh and other places. Now, the same thing is happening in the state of Sikkim as well. Recently, a video has become viral online in which a Mahindra Scorpio-N was seen parked at the ice-covered Zero Point in the valley near the Indo-China border.
This video showing the stupidity of the Mahindra Scorpio-N owner parking their vehicle on snow-covered Zero Point has been shared on X by Sidharth Shukla on their page. In this short clip, the person recording the video highlights that this particular Bihar-registered Mahindra Scorpio-N has been parked in the middle of Zero Point.
The person mentions that there is a parking lot for all the visitors on top of Zero Point. However, despite the availability of parking, this particular Scorpio-N driver has crossed the river and parked their vehicle on the snow-covered mountain. He added that these people were so far only littering the place with oxygen cans and beer bottles, but now they are also driving their vehicles to places where they should not.

In the same clip, the creator highlights the registration number of this Mahindra Scorpio-N, which is “BR 01 JU 3610”. He added that when a video was made of this vehicle driving and parking at Zero Point, the person recording the video was abused. The person in the clip requested the Sikkim Tourism Board and Sikkim Police to take strict action against this particular Mahindra Scorpio-N owner and driver.
A number of netizens have come in support of the person who has shared this video and have highlighted the problems created by tourists. One of the netizens stated, “The rise in cases in the pristine hills is a red flag for all of us. Medical science is failing because it can't fix a broken environment. Sikkim’s fierce love for its culture might be the only 'medicine' that actually protects the land.”
Meanwhile, another user stated, “Put a huge fine and a few days’ jail for these people. Don’t let such behaviour and such people settle. Please.” Apart from this, a lot of people have criticized the actions of this particular Scorpio-N owner and others who disrespect the culture and rules of the place they are visiting.

As mentioned above, one of the biggest problems in India is tourists disrespecting the culture and environment of tourist destinations. We have seen similar things happen in Leh Ladakh, Goa, Jammu and Kashmir, and many other places. However, even after getting fined and punished for such behaviour, other tourists still perform similar stunts.

Just a few days ago, another video became viral online. The popular YouTuber Ajju 0008, who is on a winter tour of Ladakh, shared a clip when his Defender got stuck in the middle of the night after trying to cross a black ice water stream. As a result, the army had to be called to rescue the stuck Land Rover Defender.
