Kia launched the new generation Seltos this year and just like the previous generation model, Kia is offering a long list of premium features with the SUV at an aggressive price tag. The price for the all-new Seltos starts at Rs 10.99 lakh, ex-showroom. Deliveries for the Seltos have also started and we have also started seeing several ownership reviews of the same online. Here we have a video of a customer who shares his experience after buying the base HTE diesel variant of the new Seltos.
The video has been shared by RNK autos on his YouTube channel. In this video, we see the vlogger talk to the owner of the Seltos diesel manual HTE variant owner about his experience with the SUV. He has several vehicles in his garage and the owner when he was deciding to buy another SUV, he had Tata Sierra and the Kia Seltos on his list.
He said no to Tata because he had owned a Harrier for an year in the past he has not had a great experience in terms of product and service. He mentions that in the 1 year of its ownership, the vehicle was at the service center for almost 6 months.
Naturally his other option was Kia Seltos and for 14.5 lakh on road, he was getting the diesel manual base HTEvariant of the SUV with decent amount of features. He starts by talking about the engine and performance of the Seltos. As this is the diesel manual, the owner claims that he has been getting around 17-18 kmpl in the city and on highway if driven sanely will offer you over 20 kmpl.

The owner calls the engine performance as linear and that helps him in the city and highways. The steering doesn’t feel too heavy to drive and the despite being a base variant, the Seltos comes with decent number of features like multi-function steering wheel, cruise control, touchscreen infotainment system, 6 airbags, rear parking camera, sensors, remote central locking, flush fitting door handles, disc brakes on all wheels and so on.
The owner mentions that he did face couple of issues with the car after he bought it but they were resolved after the first service. The reverse parking camera or the DRVM was staying on all the time and he was also getting a noise from the rear suspension. The ride and handling are comfortable and the owner mentions that he doesn’t feel a lot of body roll too.
It offers ample amount of space on the inside and it even gets rear AC vents and USB type c chargers. The only suggestion he has are with the tyres. He wished that Kia offered 17 inch wheels and tyres instead of 16 in the lower variant.
He has plans to make a few customisations to the car like install the connecting LED bar at the rear which is missing and we are assuming that he would also upgrade the tyres and wheels along with a fog lamp set up. In short the owner is extremely happy with the SUV and he mentions that if he has the same budget he would not go for any other SUV and might buy the Sletos again.
