With the rise in the number of vehicles on the road, we have also seen an increase in road rage incidents. In most cases, these incidents happen due to trivial reasons, and we have several examples on the internet that prove the same. This time around, we have a video where a woman driving a Hyundai i10 is seen dragging a man on the bonnet of her car. She reportedly dragged the man for over 2 km, and the video of the incident has now gone viral.
The video has been shared by Ghar K Kalesh on X. In the clip, we see a white-coloured Hyundai i10 being driven recklessly on the road. The video was recorded by someone who was passing through the same stretch. Upon overtaking the car, it becomes evident that a man is clinging to the bonnet of the hatchback for dear life.
The incident happened last week in Pune on the Sangamwadi–Yerwada road. The person driving the car is a woman who has been identified as Mercede Rasulifar (45). She was involved in a minor accident in which she rammed into the vehicle of Ram Laxman Rathod (34) while driving from Sadalbaba Dargah Road in Yerwada.
After the collision, when Mr. Rathod got out of his vehicle and confronted the woman, she allegedly tried to flee. Mr. Rathod asked her to get out of the car, but she refused and attempted to escape from the spot after an argument.

The man stood in front of the car in an attempt to stop her from leaving. However, Rasulifar did not stop and continued to drive forward. Mr. Rathod was not expecting this and was forced to jump onto the bonnet of the car.
He kept asking the woman to stop the vehicle, but she continued driving. In the video, we can see the man desperately clinging to the bonnet as the car moves. The woman is said to have dragged him for almost 2 km. At the end of the clip we see the man lying on the road. It looks like he lost the grip or jumped off the vehicle. The car is nowhere to be seen near the person in this video.
A case has now been registered against the driver at the Laxminagar police station. This incident is yet another example of how impatient and reckless people have become on our roads. Accidents can happen to anyone, but fleeing from an accident spot without taking responsibility is a completely different matter.
It is possible that the woman panicked after realising her vehicle had caused an accident. Ideally, she should have stepped out of the car, discussed the situation with the other party, and contacted the police if required. Instead, she chose to worsen the situation by fleeing the scene with a man on the bonnet of her car. The exact details of the charges filed against the driver have not been disclosed yet.
If you ever feel threatened in such a situation, it is advisable not to engage aggressively with the other party. Stay inside your vehicle, call the local police for help, and wait for them to arrive. Any other action can escalate the situation and make things worse for everyone involved.
