Actress Gifts Mom Brand-New Mahindra XEV 9e Electric SUV On Birthday [Video]
Mahindra’s Electric Origin duo- the BE6 and XEV 9e- have both been selling well in India. Deliveries of these started commencing in March 2025, and we have already seen these reach the garages of many celebrities, public figures, influencers and business leaders. Now, Gayatri R, an actress, anchor and a social media influencer, has gifted her mother an XEV 9e on her birthday. A video of them taking delivery of the EV was later shared on Instagram.
Gayatri is a Tamil actress, anchor, entrepreneur, and successful social media influencer. She has her own hair oil brand- Sai Secrets. Gayatri is quite big on Instagram and has over 800K followers on Instagram at the time of writing. On January 30th, she shared a video of her taking the brand-new EV home. Over 2.3 lakh people watched it in the first 24 hours.
The video opens by showing a Mahindra dealership in Tamil Nadu. The actress arrives at the showroom in a Red Renault Triber. She walks into the dealership in full style.
In the next few frames, we see her mother wait, as she completes the paperwork. It was her mom's birthday and the XEV was a 'surprise birthday gift' from her daughter. Gayatri's mom seems to be happy and proud of her daughter.
After finishing the paperwork, they move to the delivery area where the XEV 9e is kept under a Red veil. Together, the mom and daughter uncover the e-SUV. It is finished in the Stealth Black colour.
The actress then performs aarti with her mother, and together, they receive the keys from the dealership staff. She then poses for pictures with the car, wearing a Black saree and thus ‘twinning ‘ with the XEV. Later in the video, we see Gayatri getting into the XEV, placing a Red rose on the dashboard and turning the 9e on for the first time. She drives it out of the delivery area and is soon joined by her mother.
Then, we see the actress introducing the XEV 9e to her pet dog- a Husky named Bairav. The dog jumps into the front passenger seat and checks out the cabin in detail. We then see them posing for video, in front of the EV. We have seen actresses taking delivery of new cars with their families, but taking a pet dog along is an unusual sighting. And before you ask, yes, the dog in this video has an Instagram ID! It is interesting to see pet parents flexing them online, and how much the internet loves the same.
The post has been racking up comments, most of which congratulate the actress for her achievement and for giving her mom such a nice birthday gift. The XEV 9e comes in four trims- Pack ONE, Pack TWO, Pack THREE and Pack THREE Select. We don’t know which of these has reached the actress’ garage.
Two battery packs are available on the XEV 9e- 59kWh and 79kWh. The former claims a range of 542 km per charge while the later can travel 656km on a full charge. The EV supports 175 kW DC fast charging and can be recharged from 20-80 percent in just 20 minutes.
The XEV9e is underpinned by Mahindra’s INGLO platform and comes with a rear-axle-mounted electric motor. It thus has a Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) layout. The larger battery version makes 278hp and 380Nm and can do the 0-100kph sprint in just 6.8 seconds.
The 9e is a coupe SUV and comes with all-LED lighting, coupe-like roofline, 20-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels (on higher variants), and a full glass roof. It even offers a massive boot space of 663 litres. Inside, the 9e looks premium. It comes packed with features and futuristic technologies. Today, it is priced in the range of Rs 21.90 Lakh to Rs 32 Lakh, ex-showroom.
