Confident Group chairman and founder CJ Roy is among the richest Indians and has his business empire spread across several sectors. He also serves as the Honorary Consul for the Slovak Republic in Karnataka and Kerala. Roy is also a car enthusiast and owns several expensive luxury and sports cars in Dubai and India. From Rolls-Royces and Lamborghinis to a Bugatti Veyron, his garage is worth tens of millions! The businessman has now bought his 12th Rolls Royce, a Phantom VIII. A video of the ultra-luxury sedan reaching him has now been shared online.
Roy has bought his new Phantom from Big Boy Toyz, a big name in the pre-owned luxury car retailing space. The delivery video shared on the dealer’s official Instagram handle opens by showing Roy talking about the purchase.
He says that it is the ‘12th Rolls Royce in his life’. We then see the car reaching the delivery venue on a flat bed. It is kept under an elegant veil. The chairman then arrives in a White Mercedes-Maybach sedan. Later in the clip, we see Roy uncover his new Phantom. It has a classy White paint. In his closing remarks, Roy thanks Big Boy Toyz and its founder, Jatin Ahuja, for the wonderful purchase experience.

The Phantom VIII, or the eighth-generation Phantom, now has an ex-showroom price of Rs 10 Crores before options. This Indian business tycoon had bought his first Rolls-Royce in 2008.
In one of his Instagram posts, he mentioned that the 12 Rolls-Royces that he bought over the years aren’t really with him. Some, he says, moved on after glorious service.

Rolls-Royce launched the eighth-generation Phantom in India in February 2018. Back then, it had an ex-showroom price of Rs 9.5 Crores for the standard wheelbase version. Opting for the extended wheelbase version would push it beyond 11.35 Crores.
The facelift that came in 2022, Phantom VIII Series II, had an ex-showroom price of Rs 10 Crores before options for the standard wheelbase version. The vehicle in this case seems to be the pre-facelift model.
The eighth-generation Phantom is underpinned by a spaceframe platform that’s different from the one offered on its predecessor. This platform is also found on the Cullinan. The sedan is lighter and more rigid compared to the previous generation. It claims significant improvement in ride quality and refinement levels.
The Phantom VIII is powered by a 6.75-litre, twin-turbo, V12 petrol engine that produces 571hp and 900 Nm. It comes paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The standard Phantom itself is 5.7 metres long. There is generous room inside. The Extended Wheelbase (EWB) takes things to a whole new level with its humongous proportions. It is almost six metres long and has a wheelbase of 3,772mm!
The Phantom is, in fact, Rolls-Royce’s flagship ICE (Internal Combustion engine) sedan. It offers generous personalisation opportunities. The cabin comes packed with features and technologies. It gets the ‘Gallery’- a single fixed glass piece that runs along the width of the dashboard. The owner will be able to customize this if he/she wishes to do so. This is found on the new Cullinan as well.
The sedan also comes with the carmaker’s signature ‘Starlight roof’, a champagne chiller and flutes, electric operation for doors and more. The soundproofing on this car is insane, and it almost feels like the quietest car in the world.
