Videos and images of rich businessmen and celebrities buying new cars are a common sight on the internet. While some of them go for exotic cars, others opt for comfort, space, and features. Here we have images of one such billionaire from Chhattisgarh, who recently bought a Hummer EV. The irony in this case is that he is a wealthy businessman who runs a coal mining business in the region.
The name of the billionaire coal miner is Praveen Jha. We tried to dig a bit about him on the internet and found that he is originally from Bihar and came from a very humble background. He worked extremely hard to reach this position.
In the images shared online, we see the billionaire businessman along with his family taking delivery of their brand-new Hummer EV. We have a couple of celebrities who have already picked up this American electric SUV, and we have featured the same on our website too. What caught our attention in this post is the fact that Praveen Jha is in the coal mining business, which deals with fossil fuels, but his latest choice of car is an electric vehicle that doesn’t require fossil fuel.

In the same post, we also see other cars owned by Mr. Jha in his garage. We could recognize a Toyota Vellfire, Land Rover Defender, Mercedes-Benz A-Class, Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Compass, Lexus, and Range Rover Sport.
The Hummer EV is not officially sold in India. There are dealers who work on importing such exotic cars as per customer demand and also assist in getting the vehicles registered here. As these cars are imported, their cost goes up exponentially. A Hummer EV in the US costs around Rs 84 lakh, but in India, the same EV costs around Rs 3.8 crore to Rs 4.5 crore.
GMC offers the Hummer EV internationally in two versions. The exterior design of the Hummer EV is inspired by the original ICE version. There is a 2X and a 3X variant. The former gets a dual Ultium motor all-wheel-drive setup, which generates a peak power of 625 bhp, while the latter produces 830 bhp and 15,592 Nm of torque.
We assume the businessman got himself the 3X version, which is extremely powerful. The Hummer EV is powered by a 178 kWh battery pack and has a claimed range of 505 km. Just like most American vehicles, the Hummer EV is a huge SUV and weighs over 4,500 kg. Although it is a heavy SUV, the electric SUV can still do 0–100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds.
This is also the most luxurious and premium Hummer to date. It gets features like a massive 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, GMC Super Cruise, a 13.4-inch infotainment display, automatic climate control, ventilated seats, and more. It also features "Crab Walk," which went viral on the internet when the SUV was launched.
