The Ambani family and their car collection have often been a topic of discussion on the internet. In the past, we have seen family members travelling in expensive and exotic cars, accompanied by security personnel in large convoys. While the exact number of vehicles in the Jio garage is not known, it is believed to easily exceed 150 cars.
It now looks like the Ambanis have added not one but two ultra-luxury cars to their collection - and both of them are the super limited edition Mercedes-Maybach SL 680s, priced at over Rs 4 crore each.
The video has been shared by Automobili Arent on their Instagram page. In the video, a white-coloured Maybach SL 680 convertible is seen moving through the streets of Mumbai. It appears that the car was recently delivered, as it does not have a proper registration plate yet. The family may have applied for a fancy number and could be waiting for the allocation.
Interestingly, no security vehicles are seen either in front of or behind the SL 680. It is possible that the car was being driven by one of the family’s chauffeurs, who may have taken it out for a short drive or to refuel.
The car seen in the video is finished in white with contrasting black elements on the bonnet and roof. The SL 680 featured here is the Monogram Edition, which was launched in the Indian market last year. This luxury roadster is also known as the sportiest Maybach ever made. Although the car was launched in 2025, only three units were made available for the Indian market last year. The Ambani family is said to have bought two out of these three cars.
The Maybach SL 680 gets a chrome radiator grille with illuminated outlines at the front. It also features vertical Maybach slats along with Maybach lettering. Flanking the grille are sleek headlamps with integrated LED DRLs. The roadster comes with a long bonnet finished in Obsidian Black.
From the side, the SL 680 rides on 21-inch, 36-spoke forged alloy wheels with the Mercedes emblem at the centre. The car offers several customisation options, including a Maybach logo on the soft top. Chrome accents can be seen on the front fenders, door handles, and side skirts. At the rear, the SL 680 gets LED tail lamps similar to those seen on modern Mercedes-Maybach models.
The SL 680 is a two-door, two-seater roadster. Inside, it features premium white Nappa leather upholstery, with multiple customisation options available for the cabin. The exact interior specification of the Ambani family’s car is not known at the moment. Features include a three-spoke steering wheel, Maybach branding at multiple locations, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, an 11.9-inch adjustable central touchscreen infotainment system, and a premium sound system, among others.
Powering the Maybach SL 680 is a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine that produces 585 bhp and 800 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and sends power to all four wheels. The SL 680 can accelerate from 0–100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds and has a top speed of 260 km/h. Prices for the Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 start at Rs 4.20 crore (ex-showroom) in India.
